Joey W. Moore

Past Chair

Joey Moore is a 2000 cum laude graduate of the Texas Tech University School of Law, where she was a member of the Texas Tech Law Review and Board of
Barristers. Before attending law school, Joey was a cum laude graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science. Before attending law school, Joey was a junior high science teacher in her hometown of Celeste, Texas.

Joey has spent her entire legal career representing either public entities or public employees. Most recently, Joey was the General Counsel to the Texas State Teachers Association. For eleven years, Joey represented public school employees in various situations—grievances, nonrenewals, terminations, certification matters, and state and federal employment law matters. As General Counsel of TSTA from 2007-2013, Joey also represented management during collective bargaining, employee grievances and arbitrations, and transactional matters. Prior to her work at TSTA, Joey was an Assistant Attorney General in the General Litigation Division, defending public entities and public officials in state and federal courts.

Joey is a member of the School Law Section of the State Bar and is a former Chair of the Section. She has co-chaired the planning committee for the School Law Retreat, and is also on the planning committee of the University of Texas School Law Conference. In 2008, Joey was selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers—Rising Stars Edition.

Joey is a frequent speaker at legal seminars and enjoys providing legal training for her clients.
